We’ll be exploring different funding options for founders, what the different barriers entrepreneurs face are, and ways in which the government can increase the flow of funding towards startups. Patrick Newton – Founding Partner, Form Ventures

Patrick led early stage investing at Deloitte Ventures, after a career in public policy and strategy consulting in markets shaped by politics and regulation.

Form Ventures invests in UK startups with public policy exposure, from old, slow-moving regulated markets, to completely new ones where policy is only just taking shape. It invests at any point before series A from £200k to £1m, depending on the round, backing founders with further capital as late as series B.

Henry Whorwood – Leader, Beauhurst.

Henry leads Beauhurst’s Research & Consultancy team. He is an expert on business finance, entrepreneurship and innovation. He has worked on briefs for clients including the British Business Bank, HM Treasury, BEIS and Innovate UK. Henry regularly gives presentations on market trends at events around the country. He studied Classics at the University of Oxford.
