Just Right: What Mid-Market Firms Need from Government

  • House of Lords London (map)

Mid-sized businesses should be Goldilocks for governments – big enough to boost productivity and create jobs, but small enough to be nimble and innovative.

However, without the resources of very large businesses to lobby government, or the weight in numbers (and therefore voters) of small businesses, they are often overlooked by policy. Meanwhile, while there is ever-more focus on loss-making equity backed tech businesses, too little attention is paid to businesses that have already stood the test of time.

This private breakfast for around 20 founders will be an opportunity to share your challenges with two senior politicians, feed into our ongoing campaigns, as well as tap into the expertise of OakNorth, the bank built by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs.

This event will consider access to markets, talent and financing; the role of procurement; levelling up; exit strategies for accomplished mid-sized UK businesses; and whatever else you would like to raise.

Launched in 2015 by two successful entrepreneurs, OakNorth is a neobank dedicated to supporting the UK’s most ambitious mid-sized businesses; accomplished companies that are the bedrock of the economy, but are often overlooked and underserved.
